Monday, 27 Apr
Jordan went to school, as usual, no fuss, nothing. Reached the school and he asked me why the door was not opened yet. =) So when the door opened, he went in through the glass door entrance and looked at me with this certain face and said, "mummy carry me..."

and continued walking, then he reached the classroom entrance. Noticing that I was no longer in sight, he said, "tadah!" and posed in a starfish manner and started playing. humph. he is taking advantage of me lor!

Tuesday, 28 Apr
We went to Mac's for breakfast, just Jordan and me. He ate almost all my food, so anyway, we just went back home and he insisted on getting ready for school (at 9.30am), told him no, he had to go get ready for a nap, but NO... he insisted on going on YouTube to watch Letterland and popped in his Letterland disc to the comp and started singing and reading his Letterland book. Talk about obsession to the max!

Anyway, he kept insisting on getting ready for school, so finally at around 11am, he took off his clothes (on his own) and wore his school uniform. We left the house and reached school at 11.35am.

Ok, as a teacher myself, I find my rest time very very precious.

So there his teachers were, resting and discussing something... Then our dear Mr Tai propped himself on the floor, took off his sandals and walked in straightaway... Thankfully, his teachers welcomed him with open arms.

He just walked off and went into the classroom and when I called him, he said, "mummy, go home"... thanks lor, now I seem to be the one who cannot let go...

I AM SO PROUD OF JORDAN ISAIAH TAI!!!

10am - Takes a nap as instructed
11am - Wakes up, gets ready for school, no fussing, nothing!
11.40am - Reaches school, asks me to carry him... this is where it gets interesting!!!

We reach school and he asks me to carry him... Then he looks around and says, "Friends on the floor" (His classmates were standing around, so he pai seh lah!) "Jordan come down".

So Jordan gets down and stands near the glass door entrance. "Door not open? Why?" he questions, when he sees his teacher walk past. Then his teacher opens the door, grins and says, "Jordan! Come in!"

Jordan looks at me, tears start to well up in eyes and says, "Bye bye Mummy. Don't go. Carry me. Bye bye Mummy." and............... waves byebye and walks into class.

I am so proud of him!!! =)

He actually wants to go for class, all along he wanted to. Coz everytime we get ready for class, he willingly gets ready and goes, it's just the thought that we aren't there that frightens him a little. But he takes it in his stride and did very well today, and the days to come, i'm sure!

So I go off, do groceries and get home. Made shepherd's pie for dinner tonight and was preparing the ingredients. Looked up at the clock coz I had to leave the house by 1.20pm to fetch Jordan, then... cleaver slipped and knife landed on my left ring fingernail. Blood oozed out and I felt faint. Quickly ran running water across it. Laid down on the floor for a while. By the time I felt ok, I quickly put a tight plaster round it, finished up preparations and went off to pick Jordan. I don't dare open the plaster. If not for my fingernail, my finger would have been chopped off. :s

Reached Jordan's school around 1.40pm and peeped. Saw him holding a girl's hand. "Come, follow me" he told her. Led her to the bag and water bottle shelf and took her bag for her, put her water bottle inside and said, "Jordan do for you. Jordan zip for you."

*Beams with pride*

I swear, if there were those aura machines around, I would have attained immortal status, glowing not only in the dark but in broad daylight.

Helps her with the bag and then gets his own bag, opens to check if everything is there (only wet wipes, diaper and water bottle) and zips it back up. Then holds her hand and says, "come, follow me". leads her to line up for dismissal. they line up and he sees a smaller gal crying, walks over and says, "don't cry. mummy outside"....

The class is dismissed and he comes out, sees me and runs to me to hug me and asks, "Mummy? Finger pain pain?" Kisses it and sayangs it.

PHAOOOOW!!!! I am so proud of him can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna sleep with an injured finger and a HUGE GRIN tonite.

It started off as a plan in December to give Jordan a headstart in school. We wanted him to be independent and we wanted him to pick up things from others besides me and the family. We signed him up for a toddler programme together with Tumbletots and the plan was to move to Rightstart (the Tumbletots kindergarten) in June. We thought it would be good to go to a programme (Letterland) that we are all familiar with.

Jordan enjoyed his Saturday lessons a lot. Janette was with him every lesson. *ah hah!* yup, Janette was with him, the classes required an adult to sit in with him, and well, Janette being an educated helper was the best choice. If Papa or Mummy were to sit in with him, he'd be so sticky he wouldn't concentrate what!

So today was Jordan's first day in school (daily lessons). *clap clap* - why did we bring it forward? well, he was so intrigued by Letterland and kept asking for us to bring him to Tumbletots, so we brought forward the daily classes for him.

As usual, Janette brought him there. I already prepared Janette beforehand, she will have to be "hardhearted" and do the 'drop and go' - exactly what we practise in primary schools (esp with the P1s). so there Janette was, she did the 'drop and go' (but Janette being Janette, she hid at the staircase to peep if he was ok), teachers also closed the door behind her as they also practise 'drop and go'. so there he was, he said "hi" to his teachers and then...... turned around, and screamed, "aunty Janette, where are you? Don't go!"

So he cried for 5 minutes. I was expecting longer. Not bad. Not bad.

Eugene and I picked him up after class today. Peeped in before they were dismissed and saw him sitting on one of the teacher's lap *rolls eyes* - He found another security blanket. Mind u, he's the biggest sized one in the room and she was ultra skinny! Imagine her arms and legs, how much they ache!

Well, turns out he speaks well, and they could understand what he was saying. At one point in time, one of the aunties took his bag away and wanted to put it on the bag rack, he screamed, "Goodness, that is Jordan's bag!" - aunty had no choice but to return him the bag.

Anyway, he was the last to exit from class, and he saw Eugene and me standing there waiting for him. So there exits Jordan Tai, all puffy-eyed. "MAARRRRRMEEEEEEE! Paaaapaaaaaa, carry me!" My heart hurt, but no choice, I expected it. Eugene? Don't even ask, he even ask me to call to check if he was ok, 10 minutes into the class, so u can imagine how much more his heart wrentched when he saw Jordan's eyes.

Best thing was, after climbing into Papa's arms, he started, "Talking Tess" That was what he learnt today - the letter "T"! Then he started naming the characters of Letterland, much to the amazement of those teachers. Tsk tsk tsk. Jordan Tai.

I wonder how he'll be tomo.

jordan fell and bumped his head on the skirting of the floor. nasty bump left him with a bump on the head. middle of the upper portion of his forehead. he was playing soccer in the house. (what did mummy always say? no soccer in the house!)

so there's jordan holding the warm compress towel on that bump, standing there waiting for papa to quickly change to bring him to the doctor's.

me: jordan, are u ok?
jordan: yah
me: is it painful?
jordan: yah

so off to doctor's they went and when they returned, i asked him again,

me: jordan, are u ok?
jordan: woohoo... i want to eat jelly...

runs to the fridge

me: jordan, is yr head still pain?
j: no
me: so what happened just now?
j: jordan fall, BOOM! jordan head pain pain.
me: where? where pain pain?
j: jordan head pain pain here (points to the spot)
me: so how now?
j: jordan small ball on jordan head

how many of u know abt a eatery (i cannot call it a restaurant lor!) in sembawang shopping centre? it serves affordable western meals and it is very near the water playground.

well, it was our 4th visit to that place last night.

and our last!

1st visit: hair in the soup, and u know, it wasn't hair on the head type of hair *pukes*

2nd visit: my chicken fillet was not cooked, the inside was raw

3rd visit: family of 15 went, 7 orders were wrong

so here's what happened last night...

hubby requested for his ribeye steak to be served later (well, we have 2 monkeys and we take turns to eat), waiter said ok and even repeated the order with the specified instruction.

food was served and ribeye steak also served. *humph*

spoke to the waiter that took our order and he said he couldn't bring it back to the kitchen. walked back to the counter with the steak and supervisor came back with the same steak.

supervisor: we cannot return the steak
me: why?
supervisor: before you say anything else m'am, pls listen to my company policy, we have to cook everything that is order (duh) and we have to serve food hot (duh)
me: but i told your waiter to serve it later and he agreed
supervisor: yes, but he didn't write it down
me: then?
supervisor: so u have to go with my company's policy
me: huh?
supervisor: u have to take the steak

temperature's rising.................................

me: call the manager here

sup walks off with the steak in hand and manager returns with steak (that damn cow is already dead for god's sake! spare him the agony of going back and forth the counter and my table can!)

manager: my company's policy is...
me: stop
manager: my company's policy is...
me: stop

manager: my company's policy is...
me: stop

manager: m'am do u want to hear me out?
me: no, i am not interested in your company's policy. how are u going to compare yourselves to a restaurant if u insist that yr customers go by your company's policy? u have to train yr waiters

manager: that waiter is new
me: no, i have seen him since u guys opened
manager: no, he quit and came back
me: so?
manager: so he is new
me: no, he's not new and he should know your company's policy, right?
manager: he doesn't
me: so what are u trying to tell me?
manager: it's our fault
me: shouldn't u have said that from the beginning?
manager: yes, but i need to let u know about our company's policy
me: i don't want to know abt that, i only know that u shd give yr customers what they want, if u keep pushing yr company's policy down yr customers' throat, yr company will not go far
manager: can i buy u this meal to apologise for it?

note: that poor slab of steak is still in his hands lor!

me: u can do whatever u want coz i am not eating anymore
manager: do u want this steak then?
me: no
manager: the rest of the meal will be on our account

at this moment i stand up and prepare to leave

manager: do u want this steak?

me: no, bye.

what's with them and that steak?
